Quinoa functionalities
Uses of Quinoa are countless. But, it is essentially a superfood with the highest nutritional content compared to other grains.
This is due to the fact that it has the 10 essential amino acids for humans, which makes it a very complete food. In addition to being beneficial in the diet of people with celiac disease and people with diabetes as it has a low glycemic index.
How can we consume quinoa?
Quinoa has greater versatility since it can be ingested as whole grain, raw or roasted flour, flakes, semolina and instant powder, which can be prepared in multiple ways.
Quinoa grains can also be cooked, added to soups, used as cereals, pasta and even fermented to obtain beer or chicha, a traditional drink from the Andes.
In that sense, you can prepare countless recipes based on this great food such as vegetable burgers, meatballs and croquettes. Similarly, they can be consumed in salads, or as a replacement for rice.
Other uses of quinua
Quinoa has medicinal properties by acting as a healing, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and disinfectant agent. It is also used for fractures, internal bleeding and as an insect repellent.
On the other hand, the quinoa plant (the stem, the leaves and the grain) can be used as green fodder and the residues of its harvest can be used to feed cattle, sheep, pigs, horses and poultry.
